"This crew was what dad called their buddy crew. The Raidin’ Maiden pictured was a radar plane with the “Mickey” radar in place of the ball turret. As far as my research goes, this B17 survived the war. My dad, Lt. Ernst Decker flew as bombardier in this plane as necessary, and received the DFC for leading the 463rd Group in on an extremely successful bomb run on the cloud-covered target, Moosbierbaum, Austria, on Jan. 31, 1945. (Below is) a pic of dad in front of Raidin’ Maiden after his 52nd, and last, mission."
